Now that the good people at Laridian, makers of the best apps for Bible study, have eliminated your excuses for not reading your Bible. Hopefully, you will beinspired to completely read it through in one year. At this writing, the year is still young and catching up should not be an issue. By mid-January and later, you might consider just jumping in “mid-stream” and finishing the year strong. At the end of the year, you should feel encouraged to start over and read it completely through next year!

One of the best ways to experience the Bible is to read it through chronologically. Scholars have done their best to “sequence” the passages as they would have happened. Not all scholars agree on some of the books or particular events, but do not get hung up on these differences. You will not even notice the first year, and you may not even notice the second year through unless you pick up a different publisher’s chronological Bible.

The next article gives you the first week worth of readings. Each week, return here and get the next week’s worth of readings. This will mirror “The One Year Chronological Bible” as published in the PocketBible applications. Android, iOS, Mac all have great applications in their respective stores and the program for Windows is currently being rebuilt from the ground up. If you want get a feel for their products in Windows, they have a couple of old options, but I find them to have glitches now and recommend the other operating systems for now. When the new Windows version of PocketBible is released, it will be a great program.
