Summer Starts!

As we begin summer 2025, we are experiencing what most consider true summer temperatures. Next week, the forcast goes even higher. The pundants on the local television stations are calling “dangerous” temperatures. It has been decades now, but temperatures in the triple digits were considered neither unusual nor considered “dangerous”. Yes warnings were given for those with specific medical conditions (as if they needed to be told), but the forcast was given and most kids would be exited because we could play with the water hose.

Jesus Himself spoke of natural events associated with divine judgment. (See Luke 21:11) Although He does not specify heat here, current weather extremes can be a pattern for future events. The Old Testament describes how the earth is affected by sin. Read Isaiah 24:4-5 and see how the spiritually disobedient people are connected to environmental issues. It is quite apparent we are living in times described by 1 Timothy 4:1 “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;” and Luke 21:11 “And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.” as well as Matthew 24:6 “And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.” The Matthew passage was chose last for the article because of the last phrase. In no way shape or form is this a doomsday prediction. Rather this is just the beginning of major change in this world.

Revelation does describe a severe heat on the earth. (See chapter 16 and verses 8 & 9.) Our current situation on earth is now what Revelation describes, but rather a future condition. However, God is preparing this world for such a time as described in Revelation 16. As this article was being typed, the United States of America was in the process of bombing Iran’s nuclear facilities. Can you say Matthew 24:6?

  1. As a follow up to this article, during the first week of August, the airport in Roanoke recorded the lowest high temperature for entire month of August ever recorded. Man made global warming advocates must be scratching their heads.
